Spot the mistake...

The Last Woman He'd Ever Date makes it to Australia, New Zealand and all point antipodean in August.

Gorgeous cover - the Australians seem to just capture the feel of the book so perfectly - and I'm sharing with the lovely Shirley Jump's One Day to Find a Husband, so it's a double pleasure.

There's just one small mistake. Can you spot it?

Ouch! If it's any consolation, no one else will spot it as easily as you, Liz. I'm the same when people put a double "ll" in the middle of Lilian.

Have to be honest and confess that I didn't spot it - it was someone on FB!

I knew those hours at the coal face checking mail order catalogues had to count for something... I was the someone on FB :(

Is there time for it to be changed?

Liz Fielding said...

Eagle-eyed Esmeralda! No, it will never be changed. The book is printed and will already be in the hands of book club subscribers.

I once had a German translation published under the name Joy Fielding. I bet she was surprised!

That's one thing you'd expect your publisher to get right. Ouch! (Me, too, on having my name misspelled. I normally end up adding 'without an e' whenever I say my surname and smiling verrrry sweetly.)

Grr, that's annoying. But it's a lovely cover...

Hi Liz:

Do you think the cover will become valuable like those postage stamps that are printed upside down? Get the word out and there probably won’t be one left on the shelves.

BTW: My mother’s name was Lillian. Pronounced Lil lee an. Do you know if Lilian is pronounced Lil ee an?

It seems authors like the names Fielding and Darcy. Of course, I always want to write D’arcy from my high school French ala D'Artagnan and sur le pont d'avignon.

I before E except after F. *g*

but the story will be wonderful.

Really, Kate? I'd never have thought of adding an "e" to Hardy. I do always have to spell my married name, though. A confusion of "l" and "p"s!

Liz Fielding said...

You're right, Vince, a lot of authors do choose character/author names when inventing a pseudonym - thinking Emma Darcy, Charlotte Lamb. Fielding is actually a family name - just lucky I guess!

*Snort*, Anne!
