THE GREAT ADVENT CALENDAR GIVEAWAY

DAY ELEVEN

11th December

Okay, guys, Zahir is trying to do the honourable thing, Diana is lying low and Sadie is under siege so you're just going to have to put up with me today. Or you could take a peek at the Harlequin Romance Authors Blog where there's a Spotlight on Lucy Gordon. But not, of course, before you've checked out the Advent Calendar.

First, you'll want to know the winner of Day Nine, AND MOTHER MAKES THREE. The book went to Cryna, in Calgary. Congratulations, Cryna, the book is on its way.

Behind the door today is THE ORDINARY PRINCESS.

I'm always being asked where I get my ideas from and mostly it's a bit of this and bit of that. But with this one there's no doubt. Audrey Hepburn, Gregory Peck -- ROMAN HOLIDAY.

Of course there's a twist. In this story it's the heroine who's telling the prince he needs a break from royal duties. Of course she has An Ulterior Motive. You just know it's all going to end in tears.

For a chance to win the book and find out what happens, send me an email at liz @lizfielding.com with Day Eleven in the subject line, your name and address in the body of the text and oh, the name of the other actor in Roman Holiday, Gregory Peck's partner in deception.

See you tomorrow!

YAY Cryna :) see you in the corral!

Liz, I love these older covers. Some of them remind when I was paying 75 cents then 95 cents per book!

I love the photo of all the arches at the top of this post, Liz. Really beautiful. Did you take it yourself? Or find it on the net?

Talking of finding things, I shall now google Roman Holiday because my memory is Not What It Was.

Welcome, Cryna. :)

Snookie, digging out some the older books and seeing how much they cost at the beginning of the 90s is just awful. It made me feel like my Aunty May who was always telling me how much stockings cost in 1930... (There were farthings involved!)

Jan, the picture is from a book -- either Great Gardens of the World (a Christmas gift that inspired The Sheikh's Guarded Heart), or Penelope Hobhouse's Gardens of Persia which I bought at a lecture she gave at Aberglasney ( obviously solely for research purposes!) The second I think.

Liz,

Seeing all these old covers inspired me to dash to the library in the hopes of finding some of your backlist titles. (Of course I have your more recent books, and I never loan them out...too worried I might not get them back!)I found The Best Man and the Bridesmaid and His Desert Rose. I hope to curl up with them soon.
