As promised here are the dh's prize winning photographs. The first was taken when the mist filled the Towy Valley leaving Dryslwyn Castle spotlit by the sun on its "island". The picture was taken from Paxton's Tower, a local landmark. This was the one that won 1st prize.
This is the mill at Cenarth Falls, taken when the water was low. On a recent visit the entire foreground was filled with rushing water. This is a great place to watch salmon leaping, and is also where you'll find the coracle museum.

You need to actually see the second photograph to appreciate the quality of the image, the detail.
If you click on the pictures, they become full screen. The picture of the mill really invites you in.
Both of them were worthy winners.

Totally unrelated, but I can't find a definitive answer online, is Richard Mitchley Welsh? Curious b/c he's the narrator on one of my kids' audiobooks, it's set in Wales, and for the rest of the series (it's the 4th of 5) they had Alex Jennings as narrator. Suspect they changed narrators for this one b/c Mr. Mitchley can say the Welsh bits correctly?

Thank you so much, Liz! I had found a site that said he was fluent in Welsh, and even before I looked I suspected he's Welsh, but not finding a definitive answer was bugging me!
He's got a great voice but that Welsh language! My, the words, very foreign. I'm glad that they hired him for it though, and didn't let someone else struggle through.

Liz, What stunning photographs. I used to do photography myself and won one or two contests within our society, but nothing like the stuff your DH has produced. I can appreciate everything he went through to get The Castle in the Mist. Right time, right place, etc.
WOW!!! I've got to visit Wales one of these years. My friend who has family there talks about Wales often. If she didn't live here that is where she would be :)
