THE PICTURES...

As promised here are the dh's prize winning photographs. The first was taken when the mist filled the Towy Valley leaving Dryslwyn Castle spotlit by the sun on its "island". The picture was taken from Paxton's Tower, a local landmark. This was the one that won 1st prize.

This is the mill at Cenarth Falls, taken when the water was low. On a recent visit the entire foreground was filled with rushing water. This is a great place to watch salmon leaping, and is also where you'll find the coracle museum.

...AND OTHER STUFF

Last week I went to London for the annual Mills & Boon author lunch. Fabulous food and great craic. Here I am with Lucy Gordon. We share a 2-in-1 in December -- more about that later.

Here's the very lovely Fiona Harper with her "Clippy" bag.

And here are the Kates -- Walker and Hardy -- just having fun.

AND FINALLY

To celebrate their first year of eBooks, Mills & Boon are following Harlequin in their eBook giveaway and offering ten books to download absolutely free. You'll find them here There are also links on the sidebar to Harlequin Celebrates and Everyone's Reading. Between them there are 26 free books up for grabs, across all genres.

Enjoy!

Jan, Phillipa, The Castle in the Mist is, I have to admit, a real show stopper.

You need to actually see the second photograph to appreciate the quality of the image, the detail.

If you click on the pictures, they become full screen. The picture of the mill really invites you in.

Both of them were worthy winners.

Liz, I love the photos. Your DH is so talented! Do you have his work on your walls?

It looks like you had a fabulous time in London. It's great to see you all enjoying yourselves.

Thank for the hint, Michelle.

Yes, Annie, we have his work on the walls, although not those two.

Lacey, it really does look like that!

Those are amazing!! Absolutely gorgeous and despite viewing on the 'puter and not in person, I practically fell into them.

Just two days ago, I was looking at a photo of Fiona from when she was in Dallas in '07. Give her hugs from me next time you see her!

Totally unrelated, but I can't find a definitive answer online, is Richard Mitchley Welsh? Curious b/c he's the narrator on one of my kids' audiobooks, it's set in Wales, and for the rest of the series (it's the 4th of 5) they had Alex Jennings as narrator. Suspect they changed narrators for this one b/c Mr. Mitchley can say the Welsh bits correctly?

TIA,
Penn

Welsh as they come, Penn. The west Wales accent is butter soft and he's a fluent Welsh speaker. More here http://www.speak-easy.co.uk/person.php?person=74&name=Richard%20Mitchley%20-%20WELSH%20+%20RP

Thank you so much, Liz! I had found a site that said he was fluent in Welsh, and even before I looked I suspected he's Welsh, but not finding a definitive answer was bugging me!

He's got a great voice but that Welsh language! My, the words, very foreign. I'm glad that they hired him for it though, and didn't let someone else struggle through.

This book is making me want to come to Wales . . .

Liz, what a talented man your dh is! Both photographs are gorgeous. I want to live in that mill with a view of the castle in the mist. (One can dream)

Liz, What stunning photographs. I used to do photography myself and won one or two contests within our society, but nothing like the stuff your DH has produced. I can appreciate everything he went through to get The Castle in the Mist. Right time, right place, etc.

WOW!!! I've got to visit Wales one of these years. My friend who has family there talks about Wales often. If she didn't live here that is where she would be :)

Gorgeous photos, your DH deserved that first and second prize!
