RWA, EDITORS AND MY RITA

This is where I should have been a week ago. Standing next to Diane Gaston (with her Rita) holding the Rita on the right. But my editor, Jo Carr, is prettier -- and heck of a lot taller -- and she's doing a very fine job. And she was the one who had to put on the pantyhose and make the speech while I was tucked up having my eight hours! Good result.

Sheila Hodgson, Karin Stoecker, Jenny Hutton, Diane Gaston, and Jo Carr.

Gorgeous photo Liz, everyone looks so happy! I'm sitting here staring at Sheila Hodgson - she's the senior editor of the medical line I'll be targeting... so that's what she looks like! Everybody looks so glamorous, I'm even more intimidated now, LOL!
It's a shame you're not in the photo too - it would be lovely to see a pic of you holding your Rita...

Congratulations again Liz!

Liz, Isn't that the greatest picture? You should have been in it! The ladies from Mills & Boon were so wonderful to me and so excited for both of us. Mills & Boon made a very proud showing that night!
The Mills & Boon ladies also made quite a dash at the conference, but understandably so because they are all so gorgeous. Joanne Carr danced with me at the Beau Monde's soiree. We didn't exactly look like Keira Knightley and Matthew MacFadyen in P&P. More like Mr. Collins in the BBC version.
Good luck targeting the Medical line, Sue. Sheila was so nice.

Liz, the only thing missing from that picture is YOU!

Btw I couldn't find your e-mail this morning so I'll say it here - thank you for the LOVELY card. I was completely surprised and tickled. :-)

You're entirely welcome, Donna!

It is a lovely picture.

And you should be there. Will you be *there* in September so you can get another round of applause?

I hadn't realised that Jo was was current editor. She is such a lovely lovely person.

Liz Fielding said...

Yes, Michelle, I'll be there in September and so will Rita, so you can all touch her for "luck".

Jo's been my editor while Bryony's been on maternity leave and she's been just great.

Taller, I can't deny. But as you once said to me, my dear - 'Lovely is as lovely does' (or summat like that anyway!)

And I'm so looking forward to seeing you holding Rita in Sept - and to taking lots and lots of pictures! And celebrating with you
