I've lost my reading glasses...

...again.

The problem is that I don't know if I've actually lost them, or if they're lurking in some odd corner of the house where I've absent-mindedly put them down.

I've checked the car.

I've rung the dentist because my last memory of them is putting them in my handbag, or maybe a pocket, before going to have a filling replaced this week. I never actually took them out because I arrived ten minutes early (a bit anal about keeping getting to places on time) and the dentist saw me almost immediately (how rare is that) and I was out almost before my appointment time. Anyway, on the offchance I rang, but they weren't there.

They could be in Sainsbury's, crunched to pieces by a passing foot and kicked under a shelving unit. I'll run up there today and check if they've been found. Or maybe I should do a bit of serious housework  Just in case I only thought about putting them in my bag/pocket and they're actually down the back of the sofa (no, really, I've already looked).

The thing is, these were the reading glasses I bought the last time I thought I'd lost a pair. And then found them a week later.

I do have spare pair, slightly weaker, which are supposed to be for the computer. Thank goodness for the Kindle and its adjustable font size.

My glasses live on top of my head. I'm afraid to put them down anywhere in case I lose them or sit on them (I have broken at least 6 pairs of sunglasses by leaving them on the seat of the car)

I have to be meticulous about where I put my glasses i.e. only in one of only a few designated places or else I'd lose them too. In fact, I have three pairs - a cheap, upstairs pair by the bed, one which lives in my handbag, and my normal downstairs pair which lives in a basket when it isn't actually being used. I also have an old weaker pair for computer use which lives in the same basket.

I have to have rules for key things like glasses and keys or else they'd disappear for ever...

Have you checked under the driver's seat in the car? If they fell out of your pocket that's where they'd end up. (How can you tell that this is the voice of sad experience?)

LOL Liz. I know just how you feel. Hopefully you'll find them soon. And 100% agree on the font size on Kindle. It's so very handy :)

I always kept my reading glasses on top of my head (and put up with the negative remarks at the store when I needed the arms adjusted a LOT). (Just got bifocals on Friday, so last pair of reading glasses are now kept in my purse, just in case....) I always felt it was better to loosen the arms than to lose the glasses completely.
Whenever I DID lose them, they always appeared where I wasn't even looking and didn't realize I'd been: between the car seats when I did up my seat belt, in the medicine cabinet when I brushed my teeth (don't ask), under the newspapers, in the clean laundry pile, or buried on my desk, to name but a few.
Good luck!!!

Yay! My glasses were at Sainsbury's. Must have fallen out of my bag at the checkout. Safely home.

Sadly, have never been able to wear mine on top of the head - bit of a juggling act between reading and walking about specs!

I know i would lose mine, so I have 3 pairs. 1 pair on my work desk, 1 pair on my night stand. 1 pair in my purse. So happy, you found your glasses, Liz

Good plan, Tammy. I'm due for an eye-test, I think, so it's going to be a buy-one get one free all round this time, I think. Trouble is I have four pairs of glasses. The walking about one, the computer one, the reading one and the tinted lenses for the sun when it appears. I tried varifocals - no problems, just didn't quite do the job for the heavy duty reading I do.
