SIX SENTENCE SUNDAY

For this week's SSS - for more details see here, I've dipped into the first of my BEAUMONT BRIDES trilogy, WILD JUSTICE.  It has a revenge plot, old secrets, new secrets and a heroine determined to take back control of her life from the man whose mission in life is to destroy it.

Fizz. God, but how it suited her. Best kept chilled - inclined to erupt when shaken.
The thought of making love in a four-poster bed had been simmering in her head, fanning the damped down fire. Her deliberate lack of interest had alerted him and he had known then that he would take her there; that she wouldn't, in the end, be able to resist the romance of it.
But while he had thought to melt the ice a little, it seemed that unwittingly he had used a blow torch because now she had said the words, there was no way of taking them back.

Recently re-released as an eBook with this exciting new cover, you can download it for free from Amazon UK, Smashwords, Nook. It will cost you all of 99c from Amazon US.  Links on the sidebar.

Have a lovely day!

Very intriguing...and a lyrical voice, although devoid of frills. Love your delivery and can't wait to read more.

Hi Liz:

Some Ideas & a Suggestion

I thought the six sentences had to be the first six in your book and, with that in mind, your first two sentences did not make any sense:

<Fizz. God, but how it suited her. Best kept chilled - inclined to erupt when shaken

I read them over and over and thought, “How could you start a book with these sentences”. I went back to the six sentence website and saw that it could be any six sentences.

So here’s my idea: Introduce the quote like this: from page 198, “Wild Justice”

(Quote goes here...)

Idea

The rules say you can use any six sentences. They do not have to be in the same passage or contagious.

Something for writers to consider: do you have six really great attention grabbing sentences you would showcase on the Six Sentence Sunday site? If not, then now is the time to think about writing them. I’ve never thought of sentences in this way but now I will.

I’d love to see what writers think are the best six sentences in their books!

BTW: were the six sentences from “Flirting With Italian” last Sunday, the first six in the book?

I bet they don’t use, Flirtando con l'italiano with the Italian edition. I'm sure that in Italy they would read this as ‘flirting with the Italian man.” That proably does not sound very exotic in Italy. After I read it I am going to give it an Italian title that I think Harmony will use. Then I'll wait an see what Harmony uses.

Holy smokes! I'm so flabbergasted by the comment above that I forgot what I was going to say.

Oh, yeah. Nice job! Love the image of melting the ice with a blow torch.

Count me in as another Jimmy Thomas fan and best of luck with the release.

Hi Vince - neither quote was the first three sentences - it's supposed to be tickle. Unless you have one of those grab your throat openings it wouldn't work in this context. They do have to be contiguous, though.

And no page numbering with eBooks; my first gripe with them. I was reading a non-fic and wanted to make notes of page numbers to refer back, but instead I had to make notes.

Could say which chapter though.

And I look forward to comparing Italian titles.

Hi Taryn :)

Thanks so much for your comment. I'll do a quote from Wild Lady next week and give you a close up of cover number two.
