The son and heir's book is at the "Spooks" end of the market, I - as you all know! -write romance and our lovely cousin Lucinda Ganderton makes the most beautiful things and writes craft books so that you can make them, too.
My granddaughter is lucky enough to have an heirloom patchwork quilt made by her.
Her latest book written for Liberty's is out on the 5th October - you can check it out here - she has made some special limited edition items that will on sale in the store to celebrate the launch.
It's the kind of book I reach for when the nights draw in.
Writing tends to be an all consuming occupation, but the the arrival my granddaughter did produce a sudden rush of knitting and, as the nights draw in I'm looking at the abandoned projects in the basket in the corner. Small, lovely things to keep the hands occupied in the quiet after dinner while I watch Downton Abbey.
What kind of stuff do you turn to when the nights draw in and the inclination to leave the house after dark declines sharply?
Are you a demon knitter, a Christmas decoration queen, or does cross-stitch keep you busy?

Wow, what a gorgeous book (I've checked it out on Amazon and am now lusting after it - especially as I might just have some Liberty fabrics knocking about).
Definitely the sort of book I'd want in hard copy rather than ebook :o)
As for dark winter evenings, I'm more than likely to curl up with a book, or - as my youngest is planning to do her grade exams and wants someone to practise with - playing the guitar. I used to do quite a lot of sewing, pre-kids, but finding the time nowadays is a bit tricky!
Oh my, that seems to be a fascinating book...
I think that life runs in cicles. When kids wer small and days turned colder I just wanted to put them to bed and enjoy some television and reading.
Now that they don't tax so much I enjoy these nights by watching a bit of tv, while doing some craft - I'm crocheting a banner for the Christmas Tree - and then read a bit before sleeping.

I tend to do my writing at night, and some reading. (Though I am failing miserably tonight, brain and heart not in it).

Used to knit many moons ago but not terribly good at it, just the basics :)
Lacey, I used to cross-stitch a lot but the eyes are not up to it these days. Knitting is perfect!
Nic, you are such a prolific writer, I can't believe you have time to breathe, let alone knit!
I'm a knitter. We've been having very warm weather here, so my projects are sitting in the basket, but right now the girls and I are knitting basic squares that get sewn together and made into blankets for the shelter. And I have a pair of socks on the go, though it's my first time trying socks and I'm terrified to get to the "turn the heel" part!
Oh, in time for Christmas, Liz! I'll note that one down :D Maybe Santa will deliver it.
I'm fine... still beavering away, editing my MS. I'll get there in the end. It's just finding the confidence to get it out there. But I still think it needs some work.
