The 19th July is a big day.
It will be the twentieth anniversary of the day I signed my first publishing contract with Mills and Boon. And FLIRTING WITH ITALIAN, published in December, will be my sixtieth story for them. (The Wilds were with another company!)
Clearly I'm going to have to celebrate it some way.
Dinner with the Best Beloved? Certainly.. A trip? Maybe. But there'll have to be something for you, too. The fans who've supported me all these years. Bought the books with your hard earned cash. Spent valuable time writing reviews, leaving comments, sending me messages.
I've got my thinking cap on but if you've got any ideas to make it the best party ever online, then let's hear them.

Hi Liz:
I know what I’d like.
First: a trip to Italy to celebrate. Not Rome or Venice. It will be too hot. Either the Italian Riviera, on the beach, or the Lake District, where you might see George Clooney. I like Lake Como.
Now, for the fans, I’d like to receive a personally written post card from the Italian location where you are staying. A personal post card, posted from Europe, while an author is on vacation: now that beats any autographed book or bookmark any day! What a cool bookmark that post card, (cartolina) would make.
“Oh, that card, yes, Liz sent me that while she was vacationing in Italy.”
Priceless!
Vince
Ooo...love Vince's idea! A personal postcard from an author while on vacation! Actually all the postcards I have received from authors over the years, I have kept them and used them as bookmarks.
One time I received a great postcard from an author in Australia! That was awesome! It was fun to see the date she mailed it and how long it took to get to me since I live in Indiana.
I have been to blog parties before where cyber champagne is flowing heartily, cabana boys are serving appetizers, along with cyber cakes and desserts and prizes were given away during the day as guests stopped by on the blog and commented. I won books, signed coverflats, pens, bookmarks, chocolates and jellybeans! I am not kidding! One author actually gave away jellybeans!
Congrats on your 60th book Liz! What an amazing accomplishment! I can't imagine writing a whole book and 60 of them at that! You are such a classy lady!
I love the thinking cap picture. Congratulations on your sixtieth story! I hope there is a trip in the works for you - it's well deserved!
Thanks, Vince. Sadly I don't think a trip to Italy is in my immediate future. Maybe Holland, though, to see the son and heir, his fiance and their five dogs!
Postcards are a lovely idea. I love to get them and I always buy a load to bring home when I travel.
Hi Michelle!
I'm thinking a twenty-four blog party would be fun (something to cover all the time zones) just as long as I'm not expected to stay up for the entire 24!
I need to round up some mates to make it a good one. Meanwhile, Save The Day!
Hi Lacey! Thanks for the congrats. It sort of snuck up on me, but you can't let these special moments pass unmarked.
I haven't got any ideas, but congratulations! Wow! Twenty years! 60 books. (I'm not even sure I have 6 book ideas in my head! Let alone 60!) I've only read a handful of them in comparison!
Keep going, Liz. Of the books I've read so far of yours, I've loved them all :D
Thanks, Teresa. :)
