A VALENTINE'S DAY GIFT...

To celebrate all that's romantic, I have a copy of one of my earlier books, just reprinted as a Large Print Library Edition by Linford Romance to give away.

In ALL SHE WANTS FOR CHRISTMAS Maddy takes a much needed holiday -she's been working hard setting up her own business - in the sun with her Dad.  Escaping the Christmas mayhem.

Things do not go to plan.  First a besotted bloke with a ring burning a hole in his pocket turns up. No!

Then her godmother arrives with a gigolo in tow.

Then she gets stranded on a desert island with the gigolo.  Fake snow and tinsel is beginning to look appealing...

Tell me your best (or worst) Valentine's Day and I'll draw a winner on Tuesday.

Hi Liz:

My best Valentine’s Day was just a few weeks after I first met my wife. I waited 33 years to find the perfect wife and I knew she was the one! So after only a few dates I sent her a wedding style, heart shaped, cake to her school where she was a teacher.

The teachers went crazy eating that cake in the break room. They were still talking about that cake years later.

It worked!

P.S. I love large print books. : )

Large Print - Awesome Liz!
All my Valentines are great with my hubby. We don't do anything special, just being together is what matters. Though I must say, the large bouquet of flowers on my desk today (early Valentine's gift) are absolutely beautiful.

Oh, Vince! Now that's marketing for you. What women is ever going to forget a public gesture like that.

Classic.

I love it.

Flowers on your desk are so great. With Valentine's being on a Monday this year, I hope clever men will be sending their bouquets to offices. Or heart-shaped cakes.

Nothing like showing your girl how much you love her - unless you show her in front of all her workmates!

SINn - Writing a song and playing it for you has to be the most romantic thing ever.

Hi Liz,

I'd love to read one of your earlier books!

My best Valentines finding special gift under the carpet in a corner from my husband!

He wrapped it and hid it, when I went to see why the carpet was not straight, guess what? Valentine's Gift hidden there!

Valentine's Day is tough for me. My hubby lately has not been into it. He thinks he should buy practical gifts. He once bought me car wash coupons. I think his charm may be in other areas. Bummer

Hi Liz,
My best Valentine's Day was back in 1996. Dickie and I had been dating for about 3 years when I opened up our towns small newspaper, The Town Crier, to read all the Valentine's Day Ads (you know the ones where people send in a picture or an ad saying " Happy Valentine's Liz love Harold" ?) Anyway I'm reading them to Dickie and there was this Heart one that said " Happy Valentine's! Will You Marry Me? Love Little Tid" I about died because I know it was him because that was his nickname because his last name was Tidlund and his dad was big Tid and his brother was Tiddy. Anyway I looked up and there he was with the ring. A heart shaped Diamond at that.Needless to say I said yes and we are still happily together and celebrate our engagement every Valentines.

Hi Liz,

My best valentine gift was the year my then boyfriend gave me a flute. I had told him how I had studied to play the flute when I was in school but had given it up due lack of time and my parents had sold my flute and that I missed being able to play it. He completely surprised me with a new Yamaha Flute, which I still have to this day and occasionally play:)

Hi, Liz! You can run, but you just can't hide--life finds you no matter where you go!

Worst Valentine: When I was eighteen, I let my mother talk me into going out with a young man who worked for the company where Mom worked. He had made a good impression on her, and he kept asking her about me, so I started dating him. At first, I was flattered by his "intense attention", but then it began to really bother me. I tried to form a plan of how to break up with him, but it wasn't easy. To say the least, he was very showy. As impressed as he seemed to be with me, he was really far, far more impressed with himself. Everything he did for me was accompanied by the information of how much trouble it was or how much it cost. For Valentine's day, he sent me a huge floral arrangement of pink roses with baby's breath and greenery. He told me over and over that they were the most expensive roses he could find, exactly how much they had cost, and that they had to be specially ordered "just for me". Well, I love flowers, and I appreciate beauty, but I could bear the sight and scent of those roses. I took the container, flowers and all and flung as far as I could down over the big, wooded hill behind my house. Soon after that, I ended the relationship. It was not fun, not pretty, and he "just couldn't understand" why it was over. Mom never played matchmaker again, and I still consider myself lucky to have made a clean getaway!

Large Print Books ~ I used to go to the library downtown and bring my mother bags full of them to read. How lovely you will have a story published as one.

I think the worst Valentine's Day I had was the one when my brother-in-law got killed in a car accident. This was followed many years later by my dad having a heart attack shortly after quite a few members of the family had been to see him on Valentine's Day. He didn't pass away until a few days later but the connection is still there.

The best Valentine's Day in retrospect was a few days after I met my husband. I had attended a Valentine's Day dance on the Friday before Valentine's Day. My husband didn't dance at that time but he saw me in the crowd. One of my girlfriends met up with one of his friends and the next night we were all invited to go to a party with the stipulation that she had to bring the girl with the red dress on from the night before. That's how I met my honey. We exchanged goofy Valentine's cards that year as February 14th was on the Wednesday following the dance and party.

Cute, Nas!

Debby, I have to admit that car wash coupons come under "practical" rather than "romantic". But he's showing he loves you by saving you all that hard work. :)

Liz Fielding said...

Diana, that's really romantic. How could you ever say no. :)

Liz Fielding said...

Maria, that's so thoughtful. Lovely gift.

Eek, Virginia. So creepy. Run, run, run from "nice guys" your Mum fixes you up with. :)

Mixed memories for you Kaelee, but clearly your dh has a eye for a great girl. Good job you weren't wearing an LBD - who knows who she'd have taken to the party!
