Must've been Greek day at Richmond the day before yesterday, then, because the postie brought me my VERY FIRST Greek translation yesterday. Way cool!
I did some Greek when I did Classics A level, but it was ancient rather than modern; and my modern Greek is a bit... um... scratchy. (I did once order DH a birthday cake in Greek. I wrote it all out and slipped the note to the waiter at dinner the night before. And lo and behold, on his birthday, instead of pudding they brought him a birthday cake with sparklers and everything.)
Earlier this summer I needed to dispose of a lot of foreign editions. I rang the Citizens Advice Bureau who put me in touch with the person in charge of training police interpreters. She was delighted to take most of the books, but I'm still looking for a good home for the Swedish, Korean and Japanese translations.

It's all Greek to me!
Sorry - can't resist the obvious.
We'll miss you at the RNA Con ference this weekend - but we'll raise a glass (or 2 or 3 ) to absent friends and I'll hope to see you soon

My best friend's mother doesn't read English so well and loves a good romance, Liz! Katina would surely love a Liz Fielding in Greek!
Wonderful, Lisa! If you'll email me an address at liz@lizfielding.com , I'll get it in the post.
