INSPIRATION? YOU WANT INSPIRATION?

Two things inspired me to write the THE SHEIKH'S GUARDED HEART, being published in the UK and the US in September -- with fabulous new covers in both countries (about which more anon).

First, those of you who read me will know that I have a bit of a thing about gardens. So when a fabulous picture book -- The World's Most Beautiful Gardens -- appeared in my Christmas stocking fifteen months ago, and one of thsoe gardens was an ancient Persian garden, you'll understand when I say I that little prickles of excitement ran up my spine.

Then I saw this photograph in a magazine. It was a toss up which picture I posted, the garden, or the "Sheikh Hanif".

I may be wrong, but I figured you'd prefer a sneak peak of the sheikh!

It's a fairly big image, Trish, so it might take a moment to spring to life.

The Sheikh's very nice I'm sure but I wouldn't mind seeing the garden that inspired you, too. ~Sharon J

I'll post a picture next week, Sharon. I've just crawled up from the Snap & Scribble, after a solid week of revisions. Definitely put my feet up time. Well, rest my eyes, anyway!

Morning Liz - just dropped by to say hello. No sheikh jokes from me ..except i thought Omar Sharif in Lawrence of Arabia was possibly the most beautiful man on the planet.I am hopeless at gardening - I have recently killed a cactus. And - is there anywhere I can buy some of your lo---ong rom coms?

Liz Fielding said...

Hi, Vicky... killed a cactus? Er, you shot it, right? --g--

Long romcoms? The three long (100,000 word) books I wrote back in the late 90s were Wild Justice, Wild Lady and Wild Fire -- are those the ones you mean?

They're not romcoms, although the voice and the underlying humour is the same. They feature three sisters, the first is a revenge plot, the second a bodyguard plot and in the third one, the heroine is proving something to herself and gets into all kinds of bother. They are out of print, but you can get them on Amazon on both sides of the Atlantic for peanuts.

Liz

I'll let you know how I get on with finding them on Amazon. The cactus - too much water or too little. I am not sure but one just, literally, deflated.

Too little, then, I should think!
